Extend Rugs Under Furniture

Make sure to select a size which fits under your furniture. In your living room, for example, your sofa and that high chair in the corner should extend to sit on top of the rug, at least to have the front legs of the furniture on the rug and rear legs can be off.

In your dining room, the rug should be large enough to sit under the chairs as well as the table. A good rule to follow is that the chairs should be on the rug, even when they’re pulled out from the table.

Size Does Matter

Don’t make the most common mistake of take a size smaller because of a bigger price tag. We often make this mistake of getting one size smaller or one size that fits all, but well, don’t we know better about redecorating.

Go big now and save yourself the trouble of replacing the smaller size later. Besides, the cost of a rug is still lower than an entire room of carpet. Ain’t it now.

Spacing Is The Key – Go Equal

SPACING IS THE KEY - Rugscarpetskelims

To make it look neat and well put, you must give equal spacing to the rug from all corners of the area. The goal is to have the rug centered in the room.

Go Big Or Go Room

What good is a bedroom rug if it isn’t visible outside of your bed? You’ll end up stepping out on a cold, hard floor in the night, rather than a soft and cozy rug.

Choose a size that fits under all your bedroom furniture, including side tables, leaving a small part of the floor exposed around the edges. Having two smaller rugs on each side can achieve a similar result without the costly price.

Walk On Comfort

Make sure that any area used heavily for walking in the house is fully covered by the rug you choose. When you are walking through, they should’t have one foot on the rug and one foot off. It’s uncomfortable, cold and can lead to unusual wear patterns on your flooring and rug.

Be Bold. Be Colorful.

Rugs – a great way to insert fun, comfort and warmth into the room, so welcome color and pattern while shopping. There are numerous options out there and if you don’t like the ready to do, customize, so you love to live with it.

Keep Them Clean, They Last Long

If you’re looking for a long lasting rug, be sure the cleaning tactics are easy before you buy it. Keep the dirt outside. Vacuum, Vacuum, Vacuum! Rotate the furniture once in a while. Jute and other natural fiber rugs are inexpensive, but they can’t be cleaned easy at home. Vacuuming at least once in a week helps keep the carpets clean, and prevents dirt from accumulating between the carpet fibers.
